My baby constantly has diaper rash!?

I've been fighting diaper rash for over a month now. At first it ended up being a yeast infection and it took over a week to get it to go away. Then he was rash clear for 4 days but I still let him air out with no diaper 30 monutes a day and used A+D cream at every diaper change...but at the end of the 4th day another rash appeared and by morning it was horrible. I was able to heal it but the next day it was back and I healed it again and it's back again and staying longer. I've changed diapers and it doesn't matter what brand we use, it happens. What on Earth am I doing wrong and how do I keep my poor baby rash free??My baby constantly has diaper rash!?
sorry i was going to tell you more bare bum time but it looks like you have that covered or uncovered, check with a doc is what i'd do nextMy baby constantly has diaper rash!?
Either the yeast is still present, or it's something in his diet.

Or your diet if you are nursing.

We used only natural or homemade products, but either way, I would use a very mild soap and keep him extremely clean which I'm sure you've been doing, and protect that skin.

Then do some internet searching on yeast and baby rash, and diet and rash.

Good Luck.My baby constantly has diaper rash!?
are you cleaning him when you change the diaper? My baby constantly has diaper rash!?
I have noticed that when I give my 14 month old tomatoes her bum gets red and itchy and it looks like diaper rash. Maybe it's a food allergy? If your baby is not on solids yet maybe a formula/breastfeeding allergy. It's clear that it's something that he is still exposed to.

Other common things that can cause rash. Do you give your baby a bath, maybe it's the soap. Maybe the baby wipes you are using are to harsh and just the diapers. Try a different brand or one for sensitive skin. Try CLOTH diapers. Some babies just can't use disposables.

Also, found this link to other moms with similar problems and their solutions to severe diaper rash.

I find the best way to prevent rashes is to use cornstarch at every diaper change. Cornstarch will keep the area dry, rash creams tend to lock the moisture in making them more prone to rashes. My baby constantly has diaper rash!?
Have you tried putting something like ky on his butt? A thin layer over his butt area (after rash is gone) will the pee from actually touching his skin. I love some of the diaper rash ointments, but a lot of them do not keep the pee from actually touching babies skin.

I personally use Balmex on my son after every diaper change.

Just though. Have you tried not using baby wipes on him? Instead use a wash cloth to change him no matter if he is wet or poopy. You can get a pack of 30 wash cloths at the dollar store for $3.00. My oldest couldn't use diaper wipes they would break her out really badly even those sensitive ones.My baby constantly has diaper rash!?
I would try a different diaper rash cream maybe desitin...I noticed my son had bad diaper rash while we used the huggies and the costco brand...we are now using pampers and I see it VARY RARELY..and if I do see it I put on the desitin cream and its gone by the next diaper change...

you might want to also speak to your little ones peditrician there may be a skin allergy there

Good LuckMy baby constantly has diaper rash!?
It could be that he is teething. My son went through a bought of bad diaper rash when he was teething. Don't use wipes, instead use warm water and a gentle wash cloth. Try switching to desitin or triple paste (something with zinc oxide in it). Also, I found that putting a little desitin first and then some cornstarch powder on top to absorb the moisture really helped.

Sounds like a fungal infection still....Visit the dr, you need a special diaper rash ointment and need to use it religiously for 7-10days....a great one that I know works well is Vusion. Hope this helpsMy baby constantly has diaper rash!?
My 8 month old also had a yeast diaper rash (from a medication for her ear infection) and it was horrible (bleeding, gushing fluid, etc.) I ended up taking her to the pediatrician and she originally prescribed an over the counter ointment; it didn't work.

After that, the pediatrician said to use hydrocortisone cream (1%) with Vaseline coated on top. I normally use A%26amp;D at every diaper change, for preventative measures, and she said to ditch the A%26amp;D for this period of time and use strictly Vaseline to coat the cortisone cream. I would change her diapers every 2 - 3 hours, with airing her sore butt out for about a half an hour a day, too, and it cleared up within four or five days.

And in regards to diapers, we use Huggies Pure %26amp; Natural diapers (yes, they are virtually the most expensive but they are worth it), my twins have never had a plain diaper rash whilst using these diapers for the past 7 months of their lives. My baby constantly has diaper rash!?
You would want to see a doctor for that.

(But I guess baby powder would help)My baby constantly has diaper rash!?
Does your son eat a food daily that might not be agreeing with him? Like bananas, oatmeal, or something else? That could cause a rash on the outside. Use sensitive baby wipes, try using Lanolin for the rash (the cracked nipple stuff...it's supposed to be great for a rash), and try to bathe him using only water on that area. It might just need some breathing room. If it doesn't clear up after taking lots of precautions in the next week or two...call the doc. It is not normal for a rash to remain for so long.My baby constantly has diaper rash!?
Are you breastfeeding?

Edit does your baby have thrush or was recently treated for thrush? My baby constantly has diaper rash!?
the yeast is still there.

stop using diaper wipes - instead, wash him with cool water and the mildest wash you can find - i used dove baby wash as recommended by the public health nurse.

do not use any greasy kind of ointment - it traps the spores against the skin. instead, keep him naked as much as possible all day long and use corn starch.

instead of A%26amp;D ointment, use monistat or canestan twice a day.My baby constantly has diaper rash!?
get some baby powder and get the rash awayMy baby constantly has diaper rash!?
Aw I'm sorry! I know how frustrating this is and how sad also to see your baby uncomfortable. I recommend going to www.udderointment.com and getting some of Dr. Hess's udder ointment; I love it!! My son had a rash on his back, right at his diaper line, that came and went for a few months; I've been using this, and it has helped a lot! I like it too because it is basically all natural except for one ingredient, petrolatum, which is the same thing as Vaseline. :) You can even get a free sample before ordering. Did u also change the brand of wipes u are using? This was happening to my daughter and it ended up being the wipes and i was wiping her to much.
