Are you having a baby in a private clinic or in a hospital ?

I'm italian. In Italy in the hospital they keep you and the newborn for 3 days. They test the baby and they control you. The nurse teach to you how to change diapers and clean the baby.

I'd like to know how work in the hospital and in a private clinic in America, because I heard is different.Are you having a baby in a private clinic or in a hospital ?
Here if you have no complications from delivery they may send you home the next day from hospital. Two nights stay would be the max. If you have a the baby at a birthing center you go home with in a few hours. After your both checked and you have rested a little.
