if you can't ask the parents to show you how to do these things then they shouldn't trust you with their children.
ask your mum for help, and then ask the child's parents - practice makes perfect and if you have to go through many nappies to get it to stay on, don't worry, it happens to a lot of people

The Red Cross also gives classes. They're very good. If you don't know how to change a diaper there are other things you don't know and you should really take a class before you start. Besides that, if you're certified it will help you get jobs. They teach you CPR and the whole nine yards. Parents like knowing that they're leaving their Little ones in the hands of a capable and prepared babysitter. Do it. Take the American Red Cross babysitting course. You should never be babysitting if you do not have basic childcare skills. Even my 8 year old daughter changes diapers and pottys kids.
