Help, how do u know when to change a diaper?

I'm 19 and babysitting for the first time, never changed a diaper, i'm alil nervous. How do i know if she peed or pooped, poop i guess would stink, but how do i know if she peed? I don't want to disturb her to check if she's peed., she's about 2 months old and alittle advice please? tHankyou!! kelli.Help, how do u know when to change a diaper?
If she cries change her, but even it she doesn't cry, if I was the babysitter I would change the diaper and put a nice new snug clean one on her every 2 hours at the maximum just in case I wasn't able to tell yet and she had peed but it had dried up a lot. Sometimes these new diapers hold the pee so well when you feel the diaper if you're not a mom you can't even tell if it's dry or there's a little pee in there. SO I'd definitely change her whenever she cried if it was wet, or if it seemed like she was dry and not crying, I'd still change it to be safe every 2 hours while I was babysitting. And I%26quot;d try to make sure that she was in a dry diaper when the parent came home for sure so they knew you'd been at least checking and changing her. Most of the time if her diapers wet though, you'll either feel it get heavier, or you'll see the yellowish stain on the diaper or you'll smell the pee. Again unless she's a newborn and not peeing in such large quantities yet. Good luck babysitting!Help, how do u know when to change a diaper?
You should check her diaper every hour or two. You'll be able to feel on the outside if it's wet. You won't disturb her if you check... it's better to check than have her get a rash from sitting in pee.Help, how do u know when to change a diaper?
At that age, they should be peeing about every 2 hours or so...just kind of squeeze the fron of the diaper in the crotch area and see if it feels squishy. She'll also let you know by crying. If she's crying and you can't figure out why, she's probably wet.Help, how do u know when to change a diaper?
I think you have the one figured out

but if the child cries for apparently no reason it could be a wet diaper, some children don't handle wetness well, others do

you can figure that at least every hour a child will urinate and probably need changing

don't wake the kid up to change a diaper, let them sleep all they will
