How can I get my 19 month old son to stop kicking me during his diaper changes?

Lately he has become quite the Riverdance artist during his diaper changes. He thinks it is hilarious even with my sternest voice telling him it isn't nice to kick his mommy (or granny or daddy or whomever is changing the diaper). We try toys and songs, but sometimes it doesn't work. Any advice or suggestions? Thank you!How can I get my 19 month old son to stop kicking me during his diaper changes?
Do what i do. When my son kicks me during diaper changes, i hold his legs down and i tell him: We dont kick. That hurts!

He doesnt kick me that much anymore. Your son is doing it for the same reason any child does- its entertaining to kick and watch mommys face (or anyone elses) when they get hurt. If you show no emotion at all, it should subside after a while. But in the meantime, hold his legs down and tell him not to kick. Is there any way possible you could change him on a changing table? Or change him the way you would on one of those- off to the side? If you can do it that way (i personally cant) then you wont get kicked at all. Or just change him as fast as possible so that he doesnt have a chance to kick you. Enlisting daddys help when you change might be another worthy option- one changes while the other holds the legs down or entertains him.

Good luck to you :)How can I get my 19 month old son to stop kicking me during his diaper changes?

My nephew does that too.But you can try to get him a toy that makes sounds,so it will keep him focused on that toy that's making sounds other than kicking you.How can I get my 19 month old son to stop kicking me during his diaper changes?
Change him from the side. It is a bit more fiddly but means he can't kick you.How can I get my 19 month old son to stop kicking me during his diaper changes?
