How can i lose weight while breastfeeding?

I'm being told to eat more to keep my supply up.

And when I try to eat less I end up feeling really weak.

All I get to do is breastfeed and change diapers all day =/

What should I be eating and are there any quick effective excersies I can do?How can i lose weight while breastfeeding?
The best way to exercise with a new baby is take him/her out on a walk or jog once a day. Breastfeed alone will help you lose your pregnancy weight. Babies love to get a ride in the stroller so taking a 30 minute walk around to block will be good for you both.

I read somewhere (though I don't remember where) %26quot;it took you 9 months to gain that weight don't expect to lose it sooner than that%26quot; or something along those lines.

And find a new moms group so you get to do a little more than change diapers. :P I personally find having other adult contact my little bit of sanity in the week. How can i lose weight while breastfeeding?
Breast feeding burns the most calories. If you need to eat more, eat healthy fats and stay away from greasy foods and soda's. Take the baby in the stroller and go for walks...How can i lose weight while breastfeeding?
Don't eat little! You will hinder your milk supply! I am right there with you. My son still nurses every 2 hours at 10 months old.

I joined weight watchers at 2 months pp. They have a great, safe program for nursing mom's and I lost 5.5lbs in my first week! All together, I have lost 50lbs so far, with 10 to go. Most probably in the boobies though!

For some, strenuous working out can hinder supply too. Happened to me, and I had to stop. Walks are awesome. You'd be surprised. You body is just trying to focus on feeding your little one. =)How can i lose weight while breastfeeding?

I take my little guy to the local rec centre that has an indoor track and they let you take your stroller or jogger and run around.

I try and eat healthy and drink plenty of water.

(Deprivation is not only the worst way, it's the least effective way to loose weight!)

Eat lots of healthy foods, complex carbs, and veggies! And eat plenty of them! How can i lose weight while breastfeeding?
You can do weight watchers. They tailor the program to breastfeeding mothers too. You get more %26quot;points%26quot; each day. As a new mom, there's not a lot of time for you, but you could always take the baby for a walk. It's never a bad thing to get out of the house and get you and the little one some fresh air. Also, some gyms offer child care for children as young as 6 weeks old (the YMCA is one) and you can get as much as 2.5 hours to devote to yourself and your workout. If you're not ready to buy a gym membership, then you may want to invest in workout videos that can be done while the baby sleeps. I have heard good things about Jillian Michaels's 30-Day Shred, but there are TONS of options out there. I recently lost 80 pounds on weight watchers (in just enough time to get pregnant), so I believe in that program. Good Luck, and congratulations on you new baby. How can i lose weight while breastfeeding?
Breast feeding uses about 500 calories so to maintain weight you should be eating 2500 calories a day. If you wish to lose weight you need eat less, but still enough to produce good quality milk. If you don't eat well enough the milk that you produce won't satisfy your babies hunger. Try eating 2000 calories a day and see how you feel, adjust the calories accordingly. How can i lose weight while breastfeeding?
Eat healthy (no junk.) Yes, you do need extra calories - extra as in more than you would have if just feeding yourself, but this doesn't mean over-eating or even eating as much as you did during pregnancy - 500 extra calories is enough and calories are different from fat.

You burn calories while you nurse.* Great, right?

Lots of fluids - remember the fluids help keep you hydrated and keep you milk supply flowing healthy for both of you. *Water helps speed up you metabolism! : )

Regular exercises are good - 30 minutes a day. What I did was focus on my own personal target areas (like my belly and legs.) I did sit-ups and crunches, and the left lifts were great for both. Lie on your back, if someone is with you place your hands above your head to hold onto thier ankles (or somewhere else where you can hold onto something.) Lift your legs to a 45 degree angle and lower to just above the floor - start with ten of these; rest %26amp; repeat; do this for just a few short minutes; helps to do this again later on in the day (making it twice a day.) Great for the abs %26amp; legs! I also did some push-ups, even if it's up against the wall (you know, stand %26amp; face the wall, have your feet away from the wall about a foot away and do push-ups, arms should width apart.)

These were my target areas to work on first and so it created %26amp; toned muscles where I needed it most. I stayed away from fatty foods but counted my calorie intake and drank lots of water which helped speed up my metabolism. Some cardio or arobic exercise is good for your metabolism as well as you don;t have to spend a lot of time doing any of these - if all I had were 5-10 minutes, then I did what I could and continued when time allowed me to.

Also keep in mind that it takes up to 6 months for your bady to begin to go back to what is normal for you (no baby hormones.) After 6 months, what ever fat is there is yours but everything I mentioned above can be done before that as long as your doctor hasn't told you that you cannot exercise for some reason.

Good luck, mom!
