How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?

I've heard that it turns out its actually bad for the baby to use it and unnecessary. Is that true?

If you use baby powder do you use it with every diaper changing? How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
I haven't used it. I haven't found a reason to use it. We use diaper rash cream if she has a diaper rash so I don't know what else we would use it for.How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
At the class I took at my hospital they told us not to use powder because it can be inhaled. I tried it once to see if it would keep my daughter drier and I found that it only lasted for a few seconds anyway. At the hospital they recommended to use regular A%26amp;D ointment. I've been using that at almost every diaper change for nearly 21 months and it works great. How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
I have used it a few times when my daughter had diarrhea, to help dry the skin or irritants. How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?

I use nothing and my baby has never had a rash. How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
i do my babys everyday every change and my babys never had diaper rash, and it does not keep the moisture by the babys skin, her skin is dry everytime, ur just not sposed to let them inhale it, but hey our parents didnt know that and were fine rightHow many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
i use it for my baby's neck and armpit after giving him a bath. that way he won't have a rash but i do cover his face when i'm applying it on him.How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
I do! The only way its bad for baby is if you put it in the diaper while its on baby. So in that case, open the diaper before you put it on baby lightly coat the bottom of the diaper then put it on your baby, making sure baby doesn't inhale any of it.How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
I did not use it. They say the powder that goes in the air and gets breathed in can cause lung issues. Also, powder absorbs moisture(pee) and keeps it next to the skin not letting the diaper pull it away and causing diaper rashes instead of preventing them. When they were older I would use powder over all of their body so they would smell good! How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
powder is only bad if there is talcum in it . If its corn starch then it's ok. Talcum isn't good to be inhaled, but most baby powders today don't use talcum powder. How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
I use J%26amp;J medicated baby powder at EVERY diaper change. My son is 6 weeks old and we've been using it about 3 weeks. He had an awful diaper rash so bad his little bum was bleeding, and we tried Aveeno, Lansinoh, Butt paste, and Desitin, and then the pediatrician told us about this and it finally worked...he hasn't had a diaper rash ever since. How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
It is unnecessary! If you feel the need to use powder, try cornstarch, it has the same effect as baby powder BUT it's natural!

I actually never use it! We use cloth and my son has never had a rash! How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
If you do get the baby powder with corn startch :) I use baby powder everytime or at lkeast 90% of the time and I only use a little and spread it in the areas where she migt get red from the diaper or w/e....it has done no harm but it just makes her smell better :) Oinment is not the best to use b/c it's keeping it moist longer when you need to draw the moisture away from his or her area.

Good luckHow many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
We don't use it because our Ped. said it can cause lung problems if inhaled. I don't think it's necessary anyway. How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
I don't use anything. My dr said not unless there is a rash. How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
i have used it in at least 85% of the diapers i have changed on my one year old son. (and i do all the diapering) and he has had diaper rash maybe three times. it works, really. How many moms out there use baby powder when changing diaper?
I have heard that too. You are not supposed to use powder or oil. Powder can be inhaled.

No, I don't use powder on my son. I have, but I can't remember why I did. Maybe he had a diaper rash.
