Do you change diapers at night?

We have a one month old and generally do change diapers once or twice per night. This unfortunately wakes the baby to such an extent that she needs 30-60mins before she's back asleep. How long can one go without changing a diaper and not risk diaper rash?Do you change diapers at night?
After 4 kids... I can tell you that it truly depends on the child.

The last two children, I was thrilled to find %26quot;long lasting%26quot; diapers (Pampers Dry) that I used. If the baby is still feeding in the night, my suggestion is to change the diaper, feed (a full tummy helps sleep) and then back to bed for both.

If the baby is sleeping through the night, and the diaper is not completely soaked through... leave them be. Change 1st thing in the AM. There were times (not as often) when we did have to change the baby in the middle of the night, but we always left them in the crib and tried to change as quick as possible. Remember, when you're changing the baby, he/she is going to feel a BIG chill when you take that diaper off!

A little trick to help prevent diaper rash ~ use a hair dryer (low/warm setting) to dry a newly cleaned bottom! This will let you get your baby's bottom dry! :D

Good Luck and Congrats!Do you change diapers at night?
I dont change it unless it is poop. It wakes them up way to much. Ive read several places that as long as your baby is not prone to diaper rashes, its fine to go the whole night. I have twins who are 17 months old, and I did the same with them as with my 5 month old, and its wonderful :)Do you change diapers at night?
As long as you put a fresh diaper on when they go to bed and change it as soon as they wake up, then diaper rash isn't a problem usually. If you find that the child still gets a rash anyways, try putting some diaper rash cream on them with the last diaper and letting them air out for a little while in the morning.Do you change diapers at night?
My 4 month old get up just once at about 5am, I feed her then change her diaper and put her back down. But I don't have a problem with her going right back to sleep, and she's been wearing it since about 8pm the night before so its pretty wet.Do you change diapers at night?
Depends on how heavy a wetter you've got. My son was a super soaker, so if we didn't change at night he'd drench himself by morning time. I'd either have everything ready for a change and do it w/o a light or do with a little night light.

The less light the less likey she is to wake.

Pee dipes don't cause rash - poo ones do. So, you don't need to worry. If pee dipes are making her rashy its due to the chemicals in the diapers...not the pee itself. So, that can easily be remedied.Do you change diapers at night?
I would normally only change a nappy if it was keeping the baby awake.

I would not wake them to change one. (Except when my son got older, I could change him quite easily and he wouldn't even open his eyes)

But if you are worried about nappy rash, simply slather the little bottom with a barrier cream of some sort to prevent it and you wont have to worry about waking them to change the nappy.Do you change diapers at night?
I only change if they are poopy! They can last with a little bit of a wet diaper through out the night! Wouldn't ever leave them in a poopy diaper though.. No matter how long it takes them to get back to bed... You don't want to have to deal with a baby with diaper rash!!Do you change diapers at night?
When they are that young you really have to. The first few months are the worst it gets better tho I promise. They start to sleep through the night.Do you change diapers at night?
my daughter was a good sleeper and so I changed her every feed that she was wet. If she wastn' a good sleeper, I would lather her up with cream and leave it all night unless poopyDo you change diapers at night?
depends on how much your child wets, and makes BMs. I find usually my son stays on the dryer side of things until atleast 4am then releases the flood gates and has never made BMs at night. It helps if you really load up on the diaper rash cream before bed and there are diaper extenders available on the market that up the absorbancy of diapers. I havent tried them but have seen them on websites that you can order diapers on. With a little one that young, Id suggest keeping up with the changes though. What I did when I had to change my little one in the middle of the night is do it by feel. I always made sure he wore easy on off jammies to bed, then when diaper changes came along did the least amount of fussing. No lights on, very little movement of him in the bed and I found he didnt wake up much if at all. Now that hes 10 months old its another story....you could breath at him funny and he'll wake up screaming from being disturbed but will let you cuddle with him all night while co sleeping. So now that hes older I just load up on diaper cream before bed and only change him at midnight if hes truly wet.Do you change diapers at night?
I changed my little one the first month throughout the night, but we were up every two hours nursing anyways, so it was no big deal. We just layed down in bed together afterwards and i nursed her to sleep.

If you are having troubles getting her back to sleep, just smother her bottom in diaper cream before bed. Then, only change if it is poopy. I'm obsessive about diaper changing, so I couldn't do it. But it might work for you!Do you change diapers at night?
I use pampers diapers and haven't had to change her at night. When she does get a diaper rash it is usually due to the runs or something acidic she has eaten (not the case with a baby that young though since she probably isn't on a solid diet). If she is prone to them then I would change her when you get her up for her midnight feeding and use a ointment such as Desitin or A%26amp;D or Butt Butter. All of these protect from diaper rash by providing a shield to the skin from urine and feces. But generally don't worry about changing her at night unless she is prone to it.Do you change diapers at night?
change the diaper once a night. i use a trick when i change my son. i have a bottle ready. use something to prop it up and stick it in her mouth as soon as you start. when your finished she will still be in mode.Do you change diapers at night?
this must be number one, only change when they get up for a feeding, your going to burn out real quick, your baby will be fine, it's great you are worried but she'll be ok get some sleep, you are also depriving her of her much needed sleep, if her butt is too wet she will let you knowDo you change diapers at night?
generally u shouldn't disturb a sleeping baby...n its important to change diaper. u can do it in a way that doesn't wake your baby..or, u dont have to change it, it soaks well, and if ur baby wakes to feed at night, change then. make sure to wipe with wipes and dry well before putting on new one to avoid nappy rash.Do you change diapers at night?
Rule of thumb: don't change a diaper that's not poopy in the night. Always change it if it's poopy. Wet diapers don't cause diaper rash; poopy ones do. If you can't tell by the smell, it's probably not needing to be changed.Do you change diapers at night?
Try it in your own underware, to find out how long it should take.Do you change diapers at night?
If your baby is 1 month old, she's probably waking up to eat anyways. If you change her diaper before your baby is done with the bottle she'll probably go right back to sleep and that way you don't have to worry about having to wake your baby again if she gets too wet. **Also I know baby wipes can be so cold it seems like it shocks the baby so alot of times I'd just hurry up and switch diapers and skip the baby wipes in the middle of the night.**Do you change diapers at night?
Really, there is no need to change them unless they are awake with a full diaper. Dont wake them up for that. If its been more than 5hrs, then change it if it really starts to bother you. Plus easy on the baby wipes as overuse can actually give them a diaper rash too.

Get your sleep or youll all lose it.

If it's a poopy diaper you must change it. If it's just wet I go the whole night and let baby sleep. Before putting her to sleep make sure her diaper is clean, and apply a diaper rash cream and then baby powder to keep her dry.Do you change diapers at night?
you know i wouldn't want to sit in my filth whether or not i was asleep. what we did with my son was get some tap lights, you can get 6 for 5 bucks at wal mart. they put out enough light to change a diaper but not enough to really wake the baby. plus these nights time changing liaisons will make you a diaper changing pro.Do you change diapers at night?
Change it when he/she gets out of the bathr eady for bed. don't change it through the night unless he'she wakes up and has done a poo. Change it in the morning when he/she gets dressed.Do you change diapers at night?
with my son i have to change him 2 times throughout the night just becasue he pees so much and would leak through if i didnt. when he was smaller (he is now 10months) i would change him then feed him a bottle/ or boob and most of the time he would go right back to sleep. now i give him the bottle to hold while i am changing him and he goes to sleep as soon as he is done with the bottle. yea and everyone is right about the diaper rash thing about only if its poop. you can also put powder in their to help keep her dryerDo you change diapers at night?
I don't change the diaper unless it's poop (which hopefully you can get your baby into the routine of doing that activity during the day). I will say that our Kirkland diapers last all-night long except for when our son reaches the %26quot;upgrade%26quot; point. If you're finding that the diapers are wetting thru its usually a sign that your baby is ready to go up to the next size.
