How can I keep my cousin still when I change her diaper, she's disabled?

I watch my little cousin sometimes, she's 13 but she's extremely disabled and helpless, she can't talk or walk or feed herself or anything and has to be diapered. She was born missing a portion of her brain. She's very calm in general and really petite so she's easy to handle, but when I change her diaper she'll start to squirm and kick her legs and it makes it really difficult. I'm going to be watching her again this week. How can I keep her more still when I change her?How can I keep my cousin still when I change her diaper, she%26039;s disabled?
Give her a toy to play with until you are done. How can I keep my cousin still when I change her diaper, she%26039;s disabled?
If she can handle things.. try giving her something to focus on. So that she wont really worry about what you are doing. I do that with my daughter because she will squirm her way off of the diaper. My cousin in law has cerebal palsy and her mom gives her a book or a stuffed animal to focus on while changing her. It helps her out a lot and I think she is about the same age as your cousin.. Good Luck and I hope this helps. How can I keep my cousin still when I change her diaper, she%26039;s disabled?
hold her legs if you're strong enough. if not, give her something to hold/watch that will distract her until you finish. How can I keep my cousin still when I change her diaper, she%26039;s disabled?
keep her entertained give her something to look at like a picture or a doll something she really likes... or even just be funny make a noise that always gets a response from her. i know this is kinda weird but a used to babysit a disabled child and i made a game out of changing her diaper... just talked loud and made it sound like a race, or something.... i just made it different every time. but yeah don't stress :)How can I keep my cousin still when I change her diaper, she%26039;s disabled?
start by remaining calm. if you are calm it will help her be calm. try music. maybe sing to her. i used to sing amazing grace to my autistic son. worked every time. How can I keep my cousin still when I change her diaper, she%26039;s disabled?
Can you give her something interesting to hold to catch her attention?

But really you should ask her parents what they do.
