How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?

It's like WWE smackdown trying to change this kid. She is strong as a bull and she's just 6 months old. She thinks it's funny to watch us struggle to get her cleaned up. I'm scared to really use any muscle with her, as I don't want to hurt her, but she makes you put forth a true effort to restrain her. Is this normal? Will she grow out of this phase? How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?
As far as co-operation when changing your daughter is concerned, you can expect to receive less and less as the months go by and her physical development continues to spurt ahead of her moral development. The indignity of having her nappy canged, teamed with the turtle-on-its-back frustration of being temporarily immobilized, will set off a battle with each change. The trick: be quick (have all the nappying paraphernalia ready and waiting before you lay baby on the table), and provide distractions (a mobile above the changing table, a music box, preferably one that's also visually tempting, a rattle or other toy to occupy her hands, and hopefully, her interest)How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?
It's totally normal. Most of the mums I know it happens around 7 months (my daughter is 9 months now) Try giving her some toys to play with while she's being changed. And tickling her. That usually works with us. If she's trying to crawl away, you'll eventually learn how to change a baby that's on all fours. How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?
Totally normal and the fact that she gets a rise out of you makes it even more fun for her. Try not to get so worked up and quit letting baby know, heck they start testing parents very very young and this is only the beginning....How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?
Distraction. Give her something to do while you change her to take her mind off of it. Keys work well. Also cellphones, just be sure to hang up after her diaper is back in action. Good luck. How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?
Try letting her hold an object you normally wouldn't let her have like the phone, or remote it will keep her attention just long enough for you to get her changed. You can also buy a cheap toy and designate it strictly for diaper changes. How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?
yeah, my last baby use to do that! patience with her ok. just use a firm voice while you hold her legs down. there is really not much you can do. she'll eventually stop. stay sweet with her ok.How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?
I have the same problem with my son, it gets worse when the start to roll around and crawl. Then they just dont wanna stay in one spot. One way of keeping them on their back, and hopefully reasonable calm is by putting a sticker on their hands. With any luck your little girl will just lay there playing with it.

Hope it helps. How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?
Hand her a new toy or one she hasn't seen for awhile. Make is something interesting to hold and look at. Most baby change tables have a %26quot;seatbelt%26quot;. If she thinks it is more fascinating to watch your reactions to her actions, then leave her bare for awhile and then try to diaper her a bit later. To clean her up try dipping her behind in a basin of water or in the tub if she likes to be bathed. How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?

Oh I have been going through the same thing for 3 months now with my son. It sometimes takes the two of us to get him changed...and if he poops, it becomes a huge mess. The way I can sometimes get him calmed down is to give him his favorite toy, or play peek a boo to keep him distracted. Distraction is about all you can do.How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?

I put med sized smiley face stickers on the bottom of my baby's feet , I would show her the stickers right before I changed her and she would get all lost in her %26quot;new toys%26quot; AND HOLD HER FEET UP OUT OF THE WAY! No more poopy socks! How can I get my baby girl to stop overpowering me with her legs during diaper change?
