My 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?

I wonder if all night long diaper is ok? She sleeps at 8 and get up at 5:30am and her diaper is totally soaked. I tried to change her diaper while she was asleep yesterday but she got up and became very cranky. I wonder what is the best way to change her diaper? Please suggestMy 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?
Dont interupt your baby while she is sleeping. Just wait until she wake up. She doesn't feel what's in her diaper.

But from 8 pm to 5:30 am? Isn't that a little bet long?

You'd better get a doctor's advice about her sleeping attitudes. My 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?
leave her!! she will wake if it bothers her.

well done my son is 6months and still gets up twice at night!!My 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?
Never wake a sleeping baby!

(Well, not if they're healthy and well fed, anyway.)

Your baby takes in less fluid at night so can go longer without a changing. Also if you are using disposables they are very absorbent, if you are using cloth diapers, use disposables only at night- they keep the urine away from the skin.

If she is not waking up due to being wet, let her sleep without changing her.

Be sure to use a very good balm before bed and clean well when she wakes up.

Sweet dreams! My 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?
I would change her before beddy time...you can put desitin on her lil butt....if it was bothering her she would get up....

Good LuckMy 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?
haha, just let her sleep, if her diaper is soaking thru then you need tobuy new kind of diapers. They are supposed to make it so they last all night being soaked but not coming thru, Its ok, let your baby sleep. Just buy some more crib sheets too ;)My 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?
If you are just talking about her wetting her diaper, don't worry too much about her being wet all night if being wet is not waking her up. Make sure you've tried another brand or style of diaper to see if it works better, and be sure to use the right fit. Urine is basically a sterile fluid, so it shouldn't hurt if she is going to bed dry and you change her as soon as she wakes up. I had read in a parenting magazine almost 20 years ago (when my son was an infant) that letting the skin dry naturally after removing a soggy diaper was a good way to prevent diaper rash. I followed this practice and my son had very healthy skin, never suffering from diaper rash.My 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?
when i baby sleeps through the night you don't change the diaper. if she leaks there are these things called diaper doubler's. i don't know where you are located but i used to get them at my local grocery store. its kind of like a sanitary napkin for babies that you put inside the diaper for extra absorbency! My 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?
If you don't want to got back to sleepness nights I wouldn't disrupt her. Find better quality nappy to do the job properly. I used Huggies with my lot and they served us well. Yes they maybe lil bit more expensive generally but get them on special and get bulk. And another tip, coz they very good absorbency, you can get 2-3 wee's before needing to change while she is at this age. Of course later on with bigger wee's change her as you think. If you[as best you can] never allow her to get saturated or leave her that way, toilet training later will be easy. Was with all mine and I had four. It's all a learning curve til they leave home, all the best in your journey. Cheers. My 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?
Buy a pack of diapers that are a little bigger than her regular diapers and use one at night. This will help keep her from being totally soaked in the morning. Let her sleep, she'll be fine. Good luck :)My 3.5 months old has just started sleeping all night. I wonder how should I change her diaper?
I have heard it's best to let them sleep. Just change the baby as soon as she wakes up (which you have been doing) you're lucky to have a baby who sleeps through the night already.

He makes me SO mad, Why wont he change diapers?

Our son is 10 months old, the whole time he has been alive it has been myself and my mother-in-law changing diapers, but once in a blue moon my husband will change a wet diaper.

When it comes to the poop ones he refuses, he makes me do it and i feel like i'm the one doing all the parenting We are both unemployed so we are both home, i am the one who cooks, cleans, feeds the baby, plays with him, gives him a bath besides for when grandma wants to,puts him to bed and wakes up every night to take care of him when he wakes up at night.

So you can imagine how he makes me So mad. Sometimes i feel like leaving him but i can't because i'm stuck with no job, a lease that runs out in april, and no car, the car we have now is in his name. All my family is in Oregon and we live in Pennsylvania.

I love him and all but he really pisses me off.

Do you go through this? How do you get your babies dad or step dad to do stuff? He makes me SO mad, Why wont he change diapers?
Most of the women I talk to do change the majority of the diapers. I doubt he is trying to be mean, just being a man. My husband is the same way. He does lots of other stuff though, just doesn't change most of the diapers. He makes me SO mad, Why wont he change diapers?
All I can say is your husband sounds like a lazy selfish good for nothing...you shouldn麓t have to %26quot;make%26quot; him help out with the baby he should want to do it.... If it was me I would have left him a long time ago...I麓d ask my family to buy a plane ticket for myself and the baby and go stay with them.He makes me SO mad, Why wont he change diapers?
Most men though they love their child they don't want to chang diapers. If its that much of a problem ask him. He could be suffering from a form of male PPD,he loves you and the baby but doesn't feel connected yet with him. It happens, it could be the simple fact of males like to think of them selves as the providers and as you stated you are both out of work. Sit down and talk with him, don't get angry because you down know what he is feeling but see whats going on with him. let him tell you everything, and then you tell him how you feel.He makes me SO mad, Why wont he change diapers?
My husband doesn't really do the poopy diapers. We have two kids and a third on the way and he will change the wet diapers but he does everything possible not to change the poopy ones. I don't think that he does it to be mean it will literally make him throw up in our case. But he does loads of other stuff around the house. Heck I haven't had to clean a toilet in eight years so I am good with that the toilet will always be there the diapers won't. hehee so who really lost in that arrangement. As long as he is doing something to help out around the house then I don't see the problem if not talk to him. When you are both in a good mood about helping out some more. He may just not realize how you feel men aren't real good at subtlety. He makes me SO mad, Why wont he change diapers?
Maybe it's time to have a discussion--the first of many--about sharing parenting. No anger, no confrontation, just a civilized discussion about a fair and more equal share of the many responsibilities of being a parent and of running a household.

Some people, men and women both, are so grossed out by a dirty diaper that they feel sick. Others just prefer not to deal with them. If he's in the first group, then maybe he can be excused--in exchange for taking on some other unpleasant task.

Make a list of all the jobs that have to be done. You and your man need to work out a system in which nobody is the one person responsible and the other one is merely helping, not if you're both home. You two divide up the jobs as fairly as you can, and agree to meet again to discuss how it went and how you can both improve the system.

Otherwise, you're headed for being a household drudge indefinitely. He makes me SO mad, Why wont he change diapers?
oh yeah I go through this! our son is 3 months old %26amp; my boyfriend has changed 4 diapers (none poopy), no baths, never gets up. however he does work %26amp; feeds him once a week maybe (usually with a fuss). sit down %26amp; talk to him. talk to your mil %26amp; have her mention things to him. Maybe scare him into helping!

Sims 2-How come my baby is always stinky?

I have a family on sims and they have a toddler named Molli. She needed a diaper change so after she was done, she kept smelling. I gave her a bath and it still wouldnt work. I kept giving her a bath over and over and she still had stink coming from her. So I did Boolprop testingcheatsenabled true and did Force error. That didn't even work. What do you suggest I do to get rid of the stink???Sims 2-How come my baby is always stinky?
Personally, i use maxmotives to keep my sims bathed, fed, energized, and all other of those needs that need to be attended to, simply press crtl shift c to bring up the code, enter maxmotives, and BOOM! no stink (a few times the waves have stayed there, but thats rare and sims take no notice of it) glad to help :)

How often are daycares required to change diapers?

I have looked and looked online, but I cannot find the answer! A friend of mine picked up her son today from daycare. The staff informed her that her son had run out of diapers and did not get a diaper change from 9:00am - 5:30pm. First off, we work 3 minutes from the daycare and she lives 5 minutes from the daycare, so she could have gone home to get more diapers if they would have called her. Does anyone now if there is a state regulation that requires daycares a certain amount of diaper changes during a period of time? How often are daycares required to change diapers?
i dont think so

my mom told me that one time she picked me up from day care and i had a huge nasty dirty poopy diaperHow often are daycares required to change diapers?
I would take my child out of that daycare. They are obviously a bunch of idiots, who in the right mind would think that it is okay to leave a baby in a dirty diaper for that long. Its not like they dont have a phone. I would also make a complaint on this daycare to the better business bureau. What they did was absolutely rediculous. How often are daycares required to change diapers?
Wow that's crazy! Most of the daycares I know of had extra diapers just in case!!But thats nasty that they left him that long!I would definently take him out!Thats just sick! How often are daycares required to change diapers?
I don't know if there is a regulation or not, but at my daughter's daycare they changed diapers every 2 hours, more often if they knew they were soiled. I would complain to the head of the daycare, and possibly to the state agency. How often are daycares required to change diapers?
Gross! I would definitely complain. They should have A) tried to call her and B) borrowed another baby's diaper and then ask your friend to supply a diaper for the borrowed one.

I know at all the day cares I've worked at we always check diapers every hour and a half. If it was dry at that time we checked it in the next 30 minutes. Obviously if it was a poopy diaper we changed it as soon as we noticed it.How often are daycares required to change diapers?
gross - I can't believe a daycare would get away with that!!! at my son's daycare they change their diapers every 2 hours...How often are daycares required to change diapers?
Omg!! That's appalling! I am trying desperately to figure out a way to not have to put my daughter in daycare in January when I go back to school because of things like this... :-( I would definitely complain. That's ridiculous. How often are daycares required to change diapers?
I dont know about requirements but I worked at 3 daycares and all said they MUST be changed within 2 hours. Now, I understand that with 10 babies in a room and only 3 of us that 2 hours goes by fast, but I was appalled (when I nannied, it was more frequent). There were too may diaper rashes and it was kind of sad.

Im pretty sure there are requirements that children be changed when soiled. At least that was my impression as a worker Plus, the daycare is supposed to have EXTRA ones in case that happens.

Just beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don't even know how to change a diaper!?

I think that panic stage just set it!! I'm due in 8 weeks and I don't know how to change a diaper, feed a baby, change a baby, or even hold one!!!

Any advice?

I've been reading books all along [ie What to expect the first year] but I'm still clueless!! I've NEVER been alone with a baby!!! Neither has my bf!!!Just beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
Don't worry so much. Most of it will come to you naturally. That is why God made women to have children. We have better instincts than men. Also at the hospital they will give you a crash course in caring for your newborn. Try to relax, you will be fine. Plus, I will be here for at least 13 more weeks to answer any questions. Congratulations and best wishes!Just beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
Your motherly instincts will come out when the baby arrives.

Maybe take a baby class with your boyfriend......that would help alot.

Good luck with everything!!!Just beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
I've heard that there are a lot of things that do come naturally when you have a baby. Also, there are other things you won't know how to do --but there are lots and lots of other people who do! We're all here to help you with questions. You will learn how to do these things. And then you can soothe the next girl you meet who's feeling panicy behind you. . .Just beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
they will show you at the hospital if you dont know how- if it is a girl then you should always wipe front o backJust beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
Hun , don't worry , your motherly instincts should kick in ,

but what you should try is some birthing and parenting classes. Most of the hospitals have programs and they are cheap.

Newborns need a diaper change alot , just make sure they get a fresh one, and to clean very well. bottle feeding is simple, 1 scope of formula for every 2 oz of water.Burp them after each oz of formula. or breastfeeding 20 Min's on each breast. make sure they are warm, babies use up alot of energy to stay warm. Swaddling is a life saver ..and hold the baby in the corner of your arm supporting the head.

It will all come naturally once that baby is in your arms.

I wish you all the luck. I hope this helpsJust beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
its funny but when the baby does get here you will figure it out, i knew how to change diapers before i had my baby but like two weeks before she was born i freaked about EVERYTHING. just stay calm and dont worry about what you do and don't know about. just know that you have people to help you.Just beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
Ther isnt a book on changing nappies etc...id never done motherly things til my daughter was born in septemeber and when i changed her nappy i was cautious as she was so small but after id done it once i was fine and after a week or 2 i could change her on my knee which i thout was a great accomplishment, u will know whats best for ur baby and what he/she likes and which way he/she likes to be held...it does take time but u learn...ul be fibne just dont panic and take it easy thers no rushJust beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
don't be worrying it will all come naturally to you and before you know it you'll be a professional, good luckJust beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
dont worry, it will come. open the diaper, put it on (half with the velcro goes under the bum), open the velcro tabs and attatch to front of diaper. use a bit of penatin in the creases of you baby's legs and on bum to prevent diaper rash.Just beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
That which doesn't come naturally, you'll learn as you go along. I panicked too, although I practically raised my niece and knew how to change a diaper, I was worried about other things... don't worry, after the first few tries, you'll be a pro. You don't have to be perfect to be a good mother.

You can take a pre natal class, where they'll teach you everything or wait until the baby's born. The nurses at the hospital usually show you the basics.

Do get a lactation consultant if you plan on breastfeeding though, as the nurses usually don't have a clue (or time to teach you properly) and breastfeeding doesn't always come naturally.

Remember, it's hard to break a baby.... and when you panic and don't know how to do something, take a deep breath, do the best you can and ask for advice!

Congratulations and good luck!Just beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
Honey dont worry!! Lots of moms feel that way and have never been alone with a baby. Its so natural. Trust me, once you have the baby you will be amazed at your instincts in caring for it. The best thing you can do is to talk calming breaths when you are getting overwhelmed and realize that you are going to do just fine.

Lots of hosptials have classes that you can take for new born care before you give birth. They can help you alot. Dont worry though, you will learn all this. We all learn somehow.Just beginning to realize... my baby is due in 8 weeks and I don%26039;t even know how to change a diaper!?
You should ask your midwife to show you. I got the midwives in the hospital to change my baby girls first nappy as that is the hardest one to do as you will need to clean up the %26quot;Meconium%26quot; poo which is black and very sticky! Its really easy to change a nappy, in a girl, make sure you wipe front to back (wee to poo) as she may get an infection in her vagina. With a boy you dont need to be as careful but make sure when you take off a boys nappy they dont pee everywhere. Also you will need to make sure his penis is facing downwards when putting his nappy back on otherwise the nappy will leak. Top tip, make sure that their bottoms are dry afterwards or they will develop nappy rash. Its a good idea to give babies %26quot;free bum time%26quot; with their nappies off for half hour or so a day (bums on a towel incase of accidents) to give them a bit of airing! For the first few weeks they reccommend you use cool boiled water and cotton wool balls on their bits and then you can resort to using the baby wipes. Good luck its all so much fun x

  • How can I get my husband to change diapers, when he cares more about his fetish?

ok, so my husband has a diaper fetish. It doesnt bother me as long as he doesnt force me into them. I love him. I have a 2 month old son now with him and he refuses to change any diapers. he finally told me why today. He apparently had read true stories of dads loosing their diaper fetish cause they get tired of changing their kids diapers and he is afraid the same will happen to him. He %26quot;likes wearing diapers%26quot; and he %26quot;doesnt want to loose his fetish%26quot;. How can I get him to help out! how can he expect me to get an evening job when he refuses to change our son's diapers? having another child is really discouraging.

p.s. besides the whole diaper thing he is an AWESOME father! How can I get my husband to change diapers, when he cares more about his fetish?
That's %26quot;losing%26quot; and %26quot;lose%26quot; and tell him you can't get a job in the evening unless he's willing to hire a babysitter to care for the child since he's not willing to change a few diapers.

It's rather disturbing his fetish means more to him than his child's well being...he'd let the kid sit in his own poop and pee so he doesn't lose his own diaper fetish? The dude needs therapy and is NOT a good father if that's how he truly feels. He's selfish. How can I get my husband to change diapers, when he cares more about his fetish?
    That is just weird.

As parents you often have to sacrifice a great deal. The fetish isn't his life and really, if he lost it, it wouldn't kill him because his love of diapers would be killed. It's not like he would still yearn anymore. He needs to grow up and realize he's a daddy now. Not a baby.

P.s. perhaps try washable/reusable cloth diapers when he's watching the kid? Tell him if that's the alternative he wants to use that he has to launder the dirty nappy's though. At least you won't have to worry about coming home to a red bottomed baby! How can I get my husband to change diapers, when he cares more about his fetish?
yall need helpHow can I get my husband to change diapers, when he cares more about his fetish?
Well, he should have thought of that before you had the baby. This is reality, the baby's here, the diapers need to be changed and he's up.

Anyway, that just sounds like another male excuse for not changing diapers. There are millions of them. How can I get my husband to change diapers, when he cares more about his fetish?
I would just tell him that he's the man and father of the house. You gotta step up and be a man. You can't focus on yourself when you have a family. The BABY (who needs diapers) comes first and all else (sex) comes second. Are you going to let your baby sit there when you could help them out? No...you have to step up and be a man.

Explain why your family needs this from him...so you can get the extra income.

If he's in awesome father in every other way then thank him for all he does and explain you're appricative for all he does.

Good luck! How can I get my husband to change diapers, when he cares more about his fetish?
there are somethings best left unsaid.. this is one i wish i never heard.. a new low for YA.

AWESOME father? how can you look him in the eye?How can I get my husband to change diapers, when he cares more about his fetish?
I agree with lovely849.How can I get my husband to change diapers, when he cares more about his fetish?
Leave him alone with the kid for a few hours. Turn off your cell phone. Drive around. Treat yourself. Show up back home several hours later. If your kid's sitting in a dirty diaper, divorce him.How can I get my husband to change diapers, when he cares more about his fetish?
Tell him to grow the heck up and see a psychiatrist

Wrestling Match at diaper changing time!?

I have an 8 year old and a 16 month old- and many neices and nephews- so I realize when infants get older etc- diaper changes become harder because babies start to roll etc. And then when they turn into toddlers they fight it and roll etc.

Ok so my 16 month old is at that point- only her rolling around etc is just 'crazy'. I feel like I'm in a wrestling match every single time we change diapers! IT%26quot;S EXHASUTING!. She rolls around and flops over and kicks and cries etc. SHE is sooo strong- I try and make it fun (ie- %26quot;toes to your nose%26quot;) but lately every single one is a huge struggle. I don't remember it being this bad with my oldest!?!?!?! Any ideas or suggestions? Even if I hold her legs crossed at her stomach she somehow manages to flip over! My grandmother can change her diaper and she lays there perfectly still for her- but if me or dh does it- forget it. Just looking for some ideas/suggestions or is it just a stage ALL kids go through? If so- how long does it last?Wrestling Match at diaper changing time!?
my kids were just like this i pinned them down with my feet on their arms (gently) and it helped loadsWrestling Match at diaper changing time!?
Man, I was hoping to find the answer to this!

Sometimes, some things work sometimes they don't. Singing works sometimes, a toy works sometimes, telling her calmly but sternly to sit still hasn't worked at all yet, except to aggravate her further. I do agree with having everything ready to go to do it fast. Drives me crazy to watch others do it because they don't prepare themselves and aren't fast and she gets aggravated and starts screaming and crying to be set free diaper or no diaper!Wrestling Match at diaper changing time!?
Wow this is tough because i am still changing my son Thomas in my avatar picture he is 10 now and has autism ...he gets like this and can you imagine the force of a ten year olds legs !

What i did if he is kicking is turn him to the side so his legs are not aiming at you, its tricky but we mastered it, also another trick is have the nappy ready if she hasn't done a poop take it off standing up and lie her straight on to it ...oh the battles !Wrestling Match at diaper changing time!?
My eldest was a wiggle worm. I started changing her in the floor and used my feet to hold her arms down. I'd get the wipes, cream, and diaper ready beforehand so the actual changing went really fast. She wasn't happy that she couldn't get up, but it worked and left my hands free for changing her. Once I finished, I'd move my feet and she'd crawl off in a happy rush.Wrestling Match at diaper changing time!?
Get your stuff together, the drop her on the floor and swing one leg over her middle. Keep her hands on the top half and change her as fast as you can!

This stage lasts till they stop wearing diapers....Wrestling Match at diaper changing time!?
MY 18 MONTH OLD DOES THE SAME THING.WE CHANGE HIM ON HIS CHANGING TABLE AND USE THE STRAP.ALSO YOU CAN TRY USING A TOY FOR DISTRACTION.Wrestling Match at diaper changing time!?
I change them standing up. My 18 month old is impossible to changeWrestling Match at diaper changing time!?
My sister has this same problem. Her daughter will fight her like crazy, but when I change her diaper she is perfectly calm. She used to fight me too, but I used to start singing to her during changes, or saying nursery rhymes. My niece loves singing so she would pay attention to my voice rather than fighting me. If that didnt work I would give her something to hold (something she loved) and it kind of took her attention away. I think this is a phase many kids go through, my niece was around 16 mo old when it happened to her too. She is 2 years old now and its so much easier now.Wrestling Match at diaper changing time!?
give her a toy... book, or snack...

I feel your pain... my 11mth old is a twister too!!

also... in a pinch.... I can distract him by tickling his belly etc... every few seconds throughout the diaper change....

add the sound effects and odd mommy daddy face...and we are done....

lastly, we enlist our three yr old to help...baby is enamored with his older brother... so just having brother sit next to us during the diaper change...can calm him down (sometimes this backfires LOL)

good luckWrestling Match at diaper changing time!?
I went through this with my kids.

This may sound harsh but she has to learn that she must obey and sit still.

You need to hold her still or hold down her legs(not rough). And tell her firmly %26quot;no%26quot; and %26quot;hold still%26quot;. You will need to stick with it until she learns that you are serious and won't give up. No matter what do not get angry with her, stay firm and calm. She may be mad because she was able to get away with it before but she will realize that you are serious. And she may test you every once in awhile to see if you still mean business. I know politically correct discipline thinks that would be to harsh but why do you think there are so many children that flat out defy their parents in public. Children need to learn one thing and one thing only at an early age and that is to obey their parents. If they learn early on that they can't get away with misbehaving and have to obey, it makes things a lot easier as they get older.

Oh and congratulation on the new baby!

How do you change a diaper?

I have to babysit tomorrow night,

but I'm not sure if I am ready!!!How do you change a diaper?
It's quite easy! You'll see the diaper has some velcro straps. First you open the diaper-it's folded-the side with the velcro straps goes under his bum the other part goes on top, then you just close the straps and all done! It's easy! Before you take the baby's diaper have a close look at the way it's fastened.

Now if you dont know this, I think you should take a babysitting course either from the Red Cross, YMCA or local community centre, it'll teach you a lot and with that you can go to the parents and say you're a certified babysitter, you'll get more money and more jobs!

Good Luck! How do you change a diaper?
Umm do the ppl your sitting for know this? I wouldnt want my child with someone that doesnt know if they are ready to babysit or eveen know how to change a diaper. There are babysitting classes you could take but dont babysit unless your ready! Kids and babys are a big responsibility. How do you change a diaper?

Changing a baby boys diaper?! Never done it before...?

Ok so I am having a baby boy in about 8 weeks, and I honestly have no idea how to clean or change a baby boys tushie lol. I have changed little girls diapers and obviously know how to clean a lady part since I am a lady... but I have no idea for a boy! With a girl you can put vaseline and cream etc and baby powder... what do you do with a boy? I know how to like clean persay but do you also put vaseline or baby powder or anything like that? And when changing a boys diaper do you always put a baby wipe over him so he doesn't pee on you? I know it's a stupid question but I honestly don't know, and my fiance has never changed diapers before so he's probably clueless too, does the hospital show you, or will they think you're dumb for even asking..!Changing a baby boys diaper?! Never done it before...?
I do not use the wipe over the pee pee thing. But I do change him fast so as to avoid an accident.

The things you put is a personal preference. I do not like powder at all... so I would not use it. I usually use petroleum jelly at each diaper change... but it is up to you.

Also when you are wiping a boy - especially the poop - you have to remember to always wipe underneath his scrotum. The poop tends to gather there and if you do not purposely wipe there, it can remain in the crease there.

ETA: One more thing, face the pee pee down. If it faces up then when he pees it will come out of the diaper.Changing a baby boys diaper?! Never done it before...?
I didn't ether until I had my son.

I don't know if you are going to have your son circumcised or not if you do you must put the ointment and change the dressings after each change. if he is wet just wipe his bottom, now if its number 2 just clean around his package and underneath and clean around the penis. you shouldn't use baby powder it can bother there breathing. now when u change him and u are worried about being peed on just put a diaper wipe on his guy. you will do fine they will show y at the hospital.Changing a baby boys diaper?! Never done it before...?
No need for all the vaseline, diaper cream, or powder. Just wipe him with a wipe and put a diaper back on. I never really did the baby wipe over the penis thing. I will admit I did get peed on a few times but once you get the speed down then it's pretty easy to finish before he has the chance to pee again!Changing a baby boys diaper?! Never done it before...?
Don't worry about asking the nurses at your hospital for any advice you may need. I was clueless about what to do before we had our son - I did the baby wipe thing mostly and that worked.. but sometimes you're too tired to remember and end up getting peed on. It happens. You clean their behinds in the same way.

Congrats on your little boy on the way!Changing a baby boys diaper?! Never done it before...?
my son never peed on me but he peed on hiimself a lot. There's no special trick. If you're not having him cir'd then there is no care. Just wipe like a finger, the foreskin does not need to be pulled back since it is fuse at birth. Pretty simple really.Changing a baby boys diaper?! Never done it before...?
Well first off you dont have to put all that crap on any baby. ONly usually at night you CAN you dont HAVE to put powder on them and only when they have diaper rash or sho signs of getting it do you need to put it on there.

With boys. usually they pee on you when you change them so I would put a wipe over his wee wee when he has a poopy one. Then when he has a wet one just wipe him down and get the next diaper on quick to avoid accident lol

Its so simple no worries. Just wipe it down and around it and make sure you got it all. If he is getting circumsized be gentle. if you arent getting that done then you will need to pull the shaft down and clean it out and such and make sure it stays clean that way it doesnt lead to infection but

Other than that its simple. you wont know how well you will do till you chance his diaper.

    Best of luck and congrats

What do you do for diaper changes?

What is your routine-do you use powder, etc?

Also, I don't think I'm going to get a changing table. Instead I think I will have a kit to move around the house- do you use alternatives to changing tables? Do you just dig in the diaper bag when you need to change baby's diaper? Or if you have a kit in a basket or something, how many do you have around the house? What do you do for diaper changes?
I don't use powder and cream every change. Just take off the nappy, wipe with a wet wipe, apply bum cream if a rash is coming on or something and back on with a clean nappy.

I had a change table with all my kids. I loved it!

It had a shelf underneath, a lot come with two shelves so its incredibly handy for storage.

You can keep his diapers, spare wipes and all the other paraphenalia there at arms reach. Plus I had his burb cloths and wraps, toys...all sorts of things.

I had a diaper depot to hang off the side of mine, I loved it! babies r us stocked it.

I prefer a proper changing area as lets face it, poo and wee isn't exactly sanitary so I prefer it be done in one spot and not spread over the house. I've seen people changing their baby or kitchen tables and kitchen benches and to me that is just disgusting!! Never mind spreading the smell over the house lol

It was a good height for me to stand too and not be straining my back leaning over or anything.

Its much easier to control them on there. When they start to roll over and get a lot stronger mine would try and flip over and crawl or run away with poop hanging off their bum. Its much easier on a change table as they can't do that as you have better control when you're standing up over them rather than sitting on the floor or even leaning on the bed. (and who wants to risk getting poop on the carpet or sheets!) You have no idea how strong or fast they can be lol!

So anyway lol, I recommend getting one. Its one of my must havesWhat do you do for diaper changes?
You don't need baby powder if you're using disposable diapers. You do need a changing table, or you will have a very sore back from bending over to change the baby on the bed or the couch or whatever. And if you have a little boy, you definitely want a changing table rather than using the bed, the couch, or the carpet, because they squirt! What do you do for diaper changes?
Changing tables aren't strictly necessary...in the end you get used to changing the baby on your lap, on a towel on the floor, whatever...you can't hoick a changing table around with you! A changing bag is fine - just make sure to keep it somewhere you can grab it quickly when you need it. A little talcum powder is no bad thing, it protects against chafing from the diaper - also some cream to help with rash if baby gets itWhat do you do for diaper changes?
We had a changing table. Everything in one spot. It was a GREAT idea, however - I did not find it very functional for me. Instead, I had little baskets stashed with the necessities in various parts of the house. Inside of a close-able end table, and in nightstand drawers as well. That way, every poo or pee didn't have to mean I had to trek to the bedroom. Diaperchecks could simply be checks changes and resume the activity. I suppose there were three 'stations'. The Changing Table, my bed and the floor in the living room. Each kit had some burp rags (for laying baby on to protect surface) diapers, rash cream, and wipes. What do you do for diaper changes?
i had a change table, and did have until last week, and my son is 20 months old. I think they're worth it, it keeps everything in the one spot. I never used any powder or anything, i'd use nappy rash cream at the first sign of redness, otherwise it was pull it off, wipe off excess poo with the nappy, wipe with wet wipes and put a new one on.

Why does my 2 year old daughter scream when she's getting her diaper changed?

My daughter stayed with her grandmother for about a month and a half and when she came back she has since started to scream at diaper change times. She runs away and when I make her lay down for her diaper change she screams. I don't understand what could have happened to make her change like that. I know she's started potty training a little bit to get the idea of it but still ... what the heck?! How can we get her to stop? Why does my 2 year old daughter scream when she%26039;s getting her diaper changed?
it doesn't mean something happened. a lot of kids at this age dont like to stay still for a nappy change,i use to have to pin my daughter down to do it or try when she was standing up, you could ask her why she doesn't like it and talk her calmly trough it. you could speak to the person who took care of her in that time to see if she was screaming when she changed her too.i mean there isn't a whole lot of info to go from - did your daughter see you in that time? maybe she is just use to someone else doing it. try using the pull on diapers and see if it helps her.Why does my 2 year old daughter scream when she%26039;s getting her diaper changed?
You had better question your baby's grandma.Something has happened and you need to get a full story about it.I'm not saying it's something serious, but you need to know. Why does my 2 year old daughter scream when she%26039;s getting her diaper changed?
The same thing happened with my son. My MIL would watch my son during the day while my hubby and I worked. In the evening, my son would scream during diaper changes. I didn't get it, but I just assumed that's how my son was.

Then I gave birth to my daughter when my son was 17 months old. My MIL came over to %26quot;help%26quot; out during the first week.

My daughter was such an easy baby. She hardly ever cried. She was such an angel. Anyway, I had gotten up to get a drink and my daughter started to squirm in her bassinet. My MIL said she will change my daughter's diaper while I got myself a drink of water.

While I was in the kitchen I heard my newborn daughter let out this blood curdling scream!!! I flew out of the kitchen and picked up my screaming daughter. I had never heard ANY baby scream like that. It was so scary that I was sobbing. I asked my MIL what happened. Why was my daughter screaming like that?

My MIL didn't say a word!!! I kept pressing it, but she continued to ignore me! Then my hubby came home and I dropped it for the time being.

Then the following day, my MIL was over again. I was breast feeding my daughter when my MIL volunteered to change my son's diaper. I told her that my son didn't need to be changed yet, because I had just changed him a half hour ago. She ignored me and went into my son's room to change his diaper anyway. All was quiet. My son was babbling happily to himself. Then all of a sudden he let out this terrible scream!!! I threw my daughter in her bassinet and I ran back to my son's room.

I picked him up and he was still crying. I again asked my MIL what happened. She still ignored me!!!!

The next day, my husband was changing my son's diaper. I was in the living room and I heard my husband call,%26quot; Hey, Moon. Come take a look at this%26quot;.

I went back there and my hubby pointed out a small round bruise on my son's buttocks.

It looked like my MIL had pinched him!

Needless to say, we have not let my MIL alone with the children ever since!!! I HATE my MIL now. I can't even look at her without shaking in anger. My hubby feels the same way, but he is still nice to her. If it were my decision, I would have NOTHING to ever do with her again!!! My husband still loves her though, but won't leave the kids alone with her.

I don't know what happened with your daughter. But if your motherly instinct is telling you something, go with it!! Limit the amount of time your daughter is alone with her grandmother. Your daughter will soon be back to normal. In a month or so, she will have gotten over it.

    Good luck and God Bless.

    EDIT:

I'm not necessarily saying that your daughter has been abused by her grandma. All I'm saying is, if you have a gut feeling, DON'T ignore it.

Other than that, your daughter will stop screaming during diaper changes no matter what the cause is. It will stop.

My son is 2 1/2 now and he squirms sometimes (though never screams). I sing his favorite song to him while I change him. Sometimes I hand him his favorite toy. Sometimes I give him a cookie. I will do anything to distract him while I change him.

He doesn't squirm when I change him, but he does with my husband sometimes. He is getting better and at least he's not SCREAMING anymore.

How often should I be using Diaper Cream?

This question came from my answer to another posted question, but apparently I'm using Desitin too often. I put some on every time I change my 5 month old's diaper. I'd rather do this then waiting for a diaper rash to occur, but is this not right? Is it hurting him to put Desitin on every diaper change? How often should I be using Diaper Cream?
    I don't think it's bad to do.

If you use cloth diapers, you would never need diaper cream! How often should I be using Diaper Cream?
it is really not necessary to use it everytime. Why put medicine on them when not needed. Use vaseline if you want to use something. Desitin, just when some redness is appearingHow often should I be using Diaper Cream?
In the baby book I bought, Baby 411, it said it's okay to put it on every time you change your baby. Also, a good tip is to let your baby's butt air dry for a few seconds before putting on another diaper. This does the same thing as putting on cream. Every time I see any bit of redness on his butt I put cream on and the next day it's gone. It's an okay habit to get into.

But make sure to let his butt dry after using wipes. A dark place that's moist is like asking for a diaper rash. How often should I be using Diaper Cream?
I've done the same thing. I still do and I recently switched to desitin the thing is that Desiting has more Zinc that many others, so maybe you wanna apply it every other diaper change.

It's true about cloth diapers I've used it for my kids, but now my daughter is in full time daycare so she's using disposables.. so she's got diaper rash a lot.

Honestly I dont think you're hurting your baby, Im doing the same thing and nmy daughter seems just fine. How often should I be using Diaper Cream?
i wouldn't put it on every time, because then when he gets a rash it might not work.

i would just put it on there if you start to see it become red, or sore.. or if he has a upset belly %26amp; goes poop a lot. Desitin works good-so when you start using it, it will work fast. How often should I be using Diaper Cream?
It's not going to hurt him. I, however, would just stick w/ using it when he will be going for a long period of time without a diaper change (at night, for example) and then as needed. I usually just use it if he ever starts to get a little pink. How often should I be using Diaper Cream?
I worked in a nursing home before I started in a hospital and you know what, We used it every two hours when we turned our patients. Thats great that you are using it that often. If you are concerned, allow your baby to have no diaper on for a few minutes after each changing. The desitin absorbs into their skin. Give their bottom some time to breathe, but you doing this every changing will ensure that your child will never get a rash ! Kudos to you!How often should I be using Diaper Cream?
I don't think it will hurt him, but it is a waste. Desitin is really good, so if you see the first signs of a rash and use it then, it will be gone the next time you change him.How often should I be using Diaper Cream?
I don't think there's a problem with putting it on after every diaper change - I did that with my oldest son for quite some time. However, with my youngest, I have found just applying diaper cream when his bottom becomes a little red, and at night (since he may not have a diaper change at all) works just as well. How often should I be using Diaper Cream?
My doctor told me that it was OK every change, but I would use Aqua-for for prevention and Desitin it a rash appearsHow often should I be using Diaper Cream?
I've never heard that it's bad to do. Personally I would put on Vaseline (they sell it in a tube, also) on if he doesn't have a rash. It will be a barrier. They also have the Desitin Clear that would do the same. The Vaseline just doesn't have any of the active ingredient. How often should I be using Diaper Cream?
I only use it when baby actually looks like they are getting a rash.

My 17 month old has had two rashes- the first at ten months while teething, and the second one at 15 months after she had an antibiotic for the first time.

When I had my first, I used it much more frequently ( daily) and my first also had more diaper rashes.

Many of those creams are made with zinc and petroleum- what goes on the skin, goes in the body- petroleum, especially, is not something you want to put on baby daily. I now use a chamomile based ointment when needed, and it works just as well.

How can I get my daughter to use the bathroom like a big girl?

Here is my problem that I am having my daughter just turned 4 in December and she still wears diapers(please read the entire question before you judge) She is a special needs child is a little slower than most kids her age and she goes to a special school. She knows when she has pooped in her diaper she will ask me to change her and she will ask to be changed when she feels that her diaper is to wet. She has also been diagnosed with a anxiety disorder. I am just wondering if anyone else has a special needs child and how they over came the potty training dielma that I am in. I am really getting tired of changing diapers because with her in diapers I am changing 4 kids with diapers everyday three of the kids are mine and one of the babies is my neice so if I could take care of one in diapers that would be nice so I am open to any advice please help and thank you for reading my question. I appreicate everyones advice. How can I get my daughter to use the bathroom like a big girl?
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I would let her take the lead. You can ask her if she wants to go to the bathroom, but don't make a big deal out of the whole thing.

You know her temperment better than I, but I would be worried that a reward system would give her too much anxiety. She may think not getting reward = bad.

You also may find when you potty train the next oldest child she will naturally just learn along with him/her.

Another thought is to take her with the bathroom with you and let her sit on a potty while you sit on the toilet.

Good luck. Sorry I can't be too much help. How can I get my daughter to use the bathroom like a big girl?
Mine wasn't special needs but I had a hard time with her. What I did was we went to Wal Mart. We looked at all the pretty %26quot;Big Girl%26quot; panties. Then we came to the understanding that if she wet or pooped in them, she had to wear a diaper, not her pretty pretty panties. She didn't have very many accidents after a time or 2. AND make sure you buy those yucky cheap diapers that don't pull the pee away from them. They are cold and just not nice. Also, take her to the potty every 2 hours. Line them all up and sit them on the potty for 20 minutes. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell ya.How can I get my daughter to use the bathroom like a big girl?
Maybe try a game. Put a cherrio in the toilet and tell her to sit down and aim. Just a thought. I would also bring her in with you everytime you need to use the restroom. Maybe this will help make her want to do it on her own.How can I get my daughter to use the bathroom like a big girl?
Have patience. It takes kids with special needs longer to develop this habit. Try taking her to the bathroom with you so she can see what you're doing and how you would like her to do.

Good luck. How can I get my daughter to use the bathroom like a big girl?
My friend has special child and it took time for her too, but she just let her daughter go to the bathroom with her, and she finally caught on.

    Good luck

Does anyone know how to use the wonderoo diapers?

I am thinking of purchasing some wonderoo cloth diapers.

They have two inserts that are snapped together, but different sizes. Do you use both inserts or just one in the diaper? If you use both does the small one face the baby or the diaper?

Also, does these two inserts REALLY work? I want to go cloth for environmental reasons, but I wonder if they really work. I don't want to be changing clothes as often as I change diapers because of leaks.

Also, I was thinking of purchasing some additional liners that are just oval (like bum genius). I can't find a place that sells the inserts for the wonderoos (because they don't make them anymore). Will the bum genius ones work ok?

Also, what are your recommendations at night? I was thinking of using disposables at night to prevent leaks. I have looked online and I find places where they say that the wonderoos will be ok at night if you use extra stuffing. How much extra? And will they really work at night without leaking?Does anyone know how to use the wonderoo diapers?
I use fuzzibunzs with my daughter. And I love them. Cloth diapers are great for your baby %26amp; the environment. I hope this helps!

Two inserts will help absord more fluid. I use the small %26amp; medium on her and she's 15months old now.

The oval ones should work fine. Just make sure they cover the front well if a boy, and the middle well if a girl.

For night, I just doubled up her inserts. Usually, 2 will iserts will be enough for her.

We use disposables on vacations where we can't wash everyday and at church so the nursery workers won't have to handle the dirty ones.

  • How is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?

My boyfriend and I are expecting our little boy this December.

He is the second youngest of TEN. But he was less than 2 when his younger brother was born, so he%26039;s never been around babies.

He%26039;s never changed a diaper in his life.

I wouldn%26039;t say he%26039;s very immature, but he could be much more mature, lol.

I%26039;m afraid that he%26039;s going to be a wimp about diaper changes.

Was your husband/boyfriend initially grossed out by diaper changes? Did it ever change? How is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?
My husband will not change a poopy diaper unless I%26039;m out and he%26039;s with our daughter. He rarely changes diapers but does a lot of other stuff to make up for it - well, most of the time! ;) How is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?
For starters, men just hate touching diapers. My grandfather, this old italian man brags about having 6 kids and 20 grandchildren and never changing a single diaper. As for my boyfriend, I had a REALLY bad delivery and couldnt walk for 5 days, so he did most of the diaper changing when our son was first born. For the first 3 days in the hospital he did all of it but my best friend had to show him how to change the diaper (i had been napping for the first poopy one!). he did good then, folded it down for the cord and everything (be careful- because even with the notch in the diaper for the cord, it still went too high and we had to fold it down still). but once i could really move around he rarely changed the diapers and especially now, he always hands it off to me or his brother%26039;s wife. How is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?
    Darlin%26039;,

When my first was born, I had never changed a diaper! Neither had my husband! Cripes! The two of us were looking at the Baby Bottom %26amp; trying to figure what to do with it! But we figured it out!

He was always willing to change a diaper -- but was never very good at putting the sticky tabs in the right place. Sometimes, the sticky tabs would be stuck to the baby%26039;s skin; sometimes they would be stuck to her clothing. But, if Dada is willing to change a diaper, Mama does not complain!

Now it is grandbabies and Papaw is willing to help. Mostly he helps by calling for %26quot;Memaw!%26quot; But that%26039;s okay! I still love the old guy %26amp; he loves the grandbabies!

It don%26039;t get no better than this! How is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?
When I was pregnant with our first I always worried how my husband would be as a father and doing baby duties. He was 32 years old never changed a diaper in his whole life and never really was around babies. I%26039;m not sure he even liked kids. LOL But to my surprise he stepped right in and is great with our kids. He changed our son%26039;s first poopy diaper because I was sleeping. Now its not his favorite thing but he steps up to the plate and does whatever needs to be done. My best friends hubby won%26039;t ever help her change diapers poo or pee. I think that%26039;s ridiculous. Seriously be a man and take care of your baby. But I guess not everyone%26039;s cut out to change diapers. How is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?
My husband was awesome changing diapers...I totally lucked out. (I bought him a t-shirt that says %26quot;Real Men Change Diapers%26quot;)

But my brother who is exactly like your boyfriend was the youngeset of 4, and when he had his son had no idea even which way the diaper went. The nurse in the hospital made him change a poopy diaper and he ended up puking. His son is now 13 mths and he has yet to change another. He drove 20 minutes (his wife is working late) to our house so that my husband could change it for him.How is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?
ha ha. Me and my fiance got back together when my daughter was about 2 years old and every time he changed her diaper he did the whole gagging thing, but she always smells like something crawled up there and died.

With our son he is very good about it, he started out with the breast fed diapers which don%26039;t stink so he is slowly working his way up to the nasty diapers. Our son has been eating fruits and veggies for about a month now and his poop does have a bit of a stench but nothing he can handle. As long as your boyfriend works his way up then he should be fine.

Our rule is thought that if he poops while he%26039;s with daddy, then daddy changes him. Same with mommy. How is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?
My husband had never been around any babies either he was the youngest! At first he was a bit uneasy with changing the diapers and would actually kind of run away when it was time to change one lol but after a couple of times he was a little better.... although when its a poopy diaper he still likes to run and hide lol Good Luck and God BlessHow is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?
Dont worry - i%26039;d never changed a diaper either! I do most of the diapers but my boyfriend does help out a lot too. I think its probably easier for men to change boys nappies, some guys feel %26039;weird%26039; about changing a little girl at first (like my boyfriend did) but it just comes naturally now, its a job that has to be done! My husband pretty much changed every diaper the first week he was home with me and our daughter. He loves being a daddy. My man WAS fine with diapering our son, but now that he is 6 months and eating baby food, he can%26039;t handle a poop any longer. He gags and everything.

But he will change a pissy one.

My husband has changed my daughters wet diaper maybe 3 times. he wont change a poopy one. Men sometimes suck. lolHow is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?
Hey, my partner had never had ANY experience with babies until we had our daughter.

We were young too so everything was just that bit scarier!!

I ended up having a c-section so i didnt change he diaper for about 3 days. He did everything, changed her, bathed her, dressed her... i couldnt believe it!

Your b.f will most likely just adapt to it with no problem. He wont even be bothered about them when you have a new baby to hold :)

Until they get a little older then most likely he will whimp out.

It funny you ask this because the just the other day i was getting some housework done and he was taking care of her for a while.

I walked downstairs and my daughter had an explosive B.M...It was all up her back.... down her legs..it was really bad! My b.f asked me to grab her for a second while he ran upstairs..he come back down with a pair of scissors..i was a little confused but let him get on with cleaning her.

Then to my horror he got the scissors and brought them up to her vest...I shouted at him and took her away. He explained that he didnt want to have her covered in poop so he had decided to cut the vest off her instead!!

So however good they may be with babies they will always have that missing common sense that us women have :D

Good luck %26amp; congrats! How is your husband/boyfriend with diaper changes?
My husband taught ME how to use cloth diapers, so I guess he%26039;s an anomaly, and I%26039;m pretty lucky.

My brother in law has also always been good about changing diapers.

From some of my friends, I have learned that if you don%26039;t want it to be an issue, don%26039;t let it be an issue. It%26039;s kind of like ensuring that your kid%26039;s not a picky eater: you don%26039;t let people say thinks like %26quot;eew, that food is gross%26quot;... don%26039;t let your partner cop out... if a diaper needs changing, expect him to do it (show him how to do it, if he%26039;s unsure)... don%26039;t make a big deal out of it when he does it -- he%26039;s doing his JOB as a parent, not doing you or the kid some big favour.

Talk with him about your expectations (and his, of course) BEFORE the baby is born -- be clear, and make sure you%26039;re listening to each other -- but make sure he knows that he%26039;s expected to change his share of diapers -- gross or not. I mean, come on, some of the things that babies do to diapers are seriously GROSS. But, they still need to be changed. So, make sure he understands that wimping out isn%26039;t an option.

Good luck :) And to him, too... :)

Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?

My 17 month old son has had this rash for going on 3 weeks now! I've used Boudreaux's Butt Paste, which has been a God-send in the past, and I've also used hydrocortisone and Bactroban. I even give him a quick bath after each diaper change then pat him dry. It's hurting him so bad that he won't sit on his right butt cheek. Anyone have any home remedies that I may not know about?Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
Yes, %26quot;Triple Paste%26quot; is the best! All the pharmacies don't have it, but if you find it, be sure, that is the best thing out there!Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?

Desatin is supposed to be great. My aunt used it on my little cousin. No matter how often she changed him he still got diaper rash. This stuff healed it really fast.Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
I'm a grandma and I have noticed that the more products you use the more irritated the rash becomes. Try cleaning him with a soft towel do not use wipes with alcohol and let him exposed for short periods of time. I think that Jonson's baby cream is fabulous for curing and then preventing a rash. Also I would only use warm water because even mild soaps can irritate the rash. Good luck!!Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
Try putting him in a cloth diaper with out rubber pants for a while, or let him run free! If you live in a sunny area, let hime %26quot;streak%26quot;. The fresh air helps. (got 3 generations of experience here!)Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
hiya...1.the best treatment is leave ur sonny without a diaper for a 1-2 hrs, then wash him with water only, dun use any soap/lotion. Pat him dry n apply sudocreme and put the nappy on. Home remedy is u can mix purified butter+ a lil turmeric powder n apply it while he is exposed to air.It should work.Change his nappy just after 2-3 hrs, coz he might be on a lotta fluids, that is causing rashes, that doesn't mean u stop giving him fluids, just change his nappy often.

2.The other thing is your son might be having cold.

    3.He might be teething

4.Try some other brand of nappy, i hope he is not getting any frictions/rubbing due to the nappies to get rashes

5.babies who r on antibiotics may get rashes

6.if ur son gets recurring rashes-This may be because they have an inborn susceptibility, allergic tendencies, high levels of ammonia in their urine, or a pH imbalance in their stool. It may also be the case that once the skin has become irritated, it becomes more susceptible to a second attack.

7.give spinach, strawberries, tomatoes, fluids in his diet

8.i read it somewhere so sharing with u---but i take no responsiblities for this, when changing a babys diaper put the unwrapped tea bags in his/hers diaper when they pee in there diaper the tea bags will realese a chemical that heals the rash with in 1 day you can reuse the tea bags just put them in a clean diaper but beware it WILL turn the babys bottem brown

    9. Check with the doctor, is ur son's kidneys alrite?

    10. mix corn starch %26amp; vaseline together to make a paste.put it on the rash and most of the time the rash is gone by the next diaper change unless it is really bad then it will take 2 or 3 changes

11.Limit the use of wet wipes

That shd be sufficient i guess....hapy baby caring :)Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
yeah try changing your child diaperAnyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
apply your regular diaper cream but let him sit on a bedpad that they use in the hospital to let his litle bottom air out. My 7 yrold had a terrible diaper rash when she was that age and that is what our doc told us to do. remember not to let them sit in the diaper taht is wet or feeced. you may need to cut down on a certtain food that could be causing an allergic reaction. or the type pf juice of drink you are giving you babe is highly acidic which will burn when they urinate. just watch out for new things.Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
Try Maalox. It is an antacid that will neutralize the affected area. You should see results within 24 hours.Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
I can tell you what worked when my son had a particularly vicious case of diaper rash (which occurred whenever he was teething):

    1. Stop using wet wipes all together and instead, alternate washing his bottom with baby soap and water with washing it with plain water each diaper change

    2. Let him run around without a nappy for an hour or so 2 or 3 times a day until the rash is healed. Yes, a pain in the rear if he wets himself but maybe you could put down cut up garbage bags or newspapers to protect the floors!

    3. Change his diapers more frequently. Use good quality diapers and forgo the plastic pants

    4. Use a good barrier cream. I used a cream called Kamillosan Ointment on my son's diaper rash. It heals it more or less overnight (honestly, it does) AND it can be used on cracked nipples too. The cream is non toxic so if it is used on nipples, it does not have to be wiped off in any way before breast feeding.

    5. Once the rash has healed, use a good barrier cream such as Sudacrem.

    6. In addition to caring for his bottom, when you bathe him, moisturise him all over with a good quality, unscented baby lotion. This will go a long way to improving the general condition of his skin and will prevent nappy rash from getting a grip in the areas that are usually unmoisturised.

    7. Keep an eye on his diet and see if any particular food item sets him off, particularly if he is teething.

Do not use any talc or other powders as these will clump in his creases and will cause extra irritation. Continue to stick with washing your baby's bottom when you change him rather than using wipes (unless you are out). Use soap sparingly every other change (lightly soap your hand then wash his genitals and bottom quickly and rinse immediately) otherwise the ammonia will continue to build up. Also continue to change his diapers frequently (every hour - hour and a half or so). Finally, continue to let him run around without a diaper at least once a day (more if you can manage it) to stop the rash returning.

Try Tea Tree oil diluted with a carrier oil (I have used it full strength when son was a baby, just keep an eye so it doesn't dry the skin out).

    Babysitting tips? food? diaper changing?

Well, I have babbysitted many time's but not as young as 4 monthes!! and I need tips, how to change diaper?, do not fill stupid putting every detail either...lol, how to make the baby stop crying?, How long do baby's usually sleep, I am not suypposed to wake her up am I? put ALL tips, thanks.Babysitting tips? food? diaper changing?
When it's time to change diapers, have everything you need right there beside you all ready to go.

For disposable diapers you will need a clean disposable diaper, and disposable baby diaper wipes. Baby powder and ointment if necessary.

With cloth diapers you will need a clean fresh diaper or two, depending on if you are going to single diaper, or double diaper the baby. Baby powder and diaper rash ointment if required, and a clean pair of rubber pants just in case.

With my own kids I have always used cloth diapers, so what I do is just lay the baby down, then I pull the baby's rubber pants off. I then unpin the diaper, and put the diaper or diapers into the diaper pail (along with the rubber pants) if those need changing too. Then I clean the baby up, lift the baby up by the ankles, tuck a fresh clean diaper or diapers under their bottom, sprinkle a dash of baby powder inside the diaper or diapers, then I pin each side of the baby's diapers with a diaper pin, pull on a pair of rubber pants back on over top of their diapers again, and walla! All done. The more practice you get, the faster and better you get.

Changing diapers as a babysitter is great pre-motherhood practice, and although you may find it to be kind of a yucky job right now, the hands on practice and experience you gain now will help you be a better mother when you have children of your own later on in life.Babysitting tips? food? diaper changing?
4 month old are a cute age to babysit

Changing diapers: Have diaper, powder, rash cream if needed, wipies for sure - ok, Just lie him/her on back, remove soiled diaper, open clean diaper all the way, slip diaper under butt, make sure is high enough on the back (sometimes babies poop and pee up their backs) close remainder diaper, make sure not too tight (fit 2 fingers on the front opening-that is how to tell)

Can't make a baby stop crying though - figure out what he/she needs, most of the time it is Hungry, Sleepy, Uncomfortable wearing clothing, Illness.

Babies usually at that age sleep about 2 hours, then feeding time.

Don't wake her/him up, Wait until about 2.5 hours, then wake it up.Babysitting tips? food? diaper changing?
All babies are different, you should ask the parents if you could come over and hang out before you actually babysit by yourself. You can see how things are done and ask questions. that way you don't feel overwhelmed with it all. It can be very tough taking care of a young baby. You should ask the parents all those questions you just asked. good luckBabysitting tips? food? diaper changing?
I agree with mommyofone. Every baby is different. My daughter is 2mos and she sleeps for 5hr stretches during the night beginning at 8pm and stays awake for several hours during the day. 4 mo olds are generally okay to sleep without being awakened--just check on them if you get nervous. The parents will also be able to tell you what calms that particular baby. Some babies like to be held while walking, others like sitting and rocking--my daughter calms down when you stroke her head. So it will always be different. Good luck and have fun.Babysitting tips? food? diaper changing?
when you get the baby. just take note of how her diaper is put on. and as you take it off you will see how to put another diaper on. wipe her at every diaper change even if it's just pee, otherwise she will get a rash. talk to the baby as you would talk to your puppy. talk about anything. when she is crying after you find out that nothing is wrong with her (dirty diaper, hot, hungry, cold, temp.) then, turn on the tv and point to it and show things to her. or sing to her. and when she is sleeping don't wake her up, she might get cranky. it would be easier to get her food ready if you know she will be hungry when she wakes up, so that you don't feel rushed when she's crying. and play with her to keep her happy... that's all.Babysitting tips? food? diaper changing?
No.. you dont wake up a baby...

Change diapers once in 3 hours, when the baby poohs...

baby cries for a reason, maybe they are hungry, sleepy, or thirsty... try to get them everything.. sometimes they tend to cry when they are alone,,, so always make sure they are able to see you in sight. Otherwise, the baby may be in pain (stomach upset maybe).. there are oils you can rub on their bellies to reduce this.

    Good Luck.

How do you deal with an 11 month old crying and fussing during diaper changes, etc.?

My son is 11 months, a very sweet boy, for the most part good natured and an even temperament. But the moment you lay him down to change his diaper he tries to turn around, he grasps the changing table and is so strong he is able to pull himself up, etc., it is a battle every time. It has gotten to the point where the moment we lay him down he starts crying. I have a 4 yr old and I remember some fussing and kicking but never anything like this. I try to keep my composure, distract him but nothing seems to work and it is getting to be a nightmare. Any suggestions??How do you deal with an 11 month old crying and fussing during diaper changes, etc.?
My stepdaughter used to freak out the minute I put her on those changing stations in stores and gas stations. I don't know what it was about them, but she would scream. I felt bad for the other people in the bathroom. A couple things you can try, if you haven't already, is singing to him (try to get him to %26quot;sing%26quot; along, talk to him to distract him, play with him (tickle, blow rasberries on his tummy etc) to try to make diaper changing fun, or try to give him a neat toy he only gets when he gets his diaper changed to keep him distracted and interested. My daughter was like diapering a greased alligator with all the wiggling and such- so I got the idea to hang some toys from the ceiling above her changing table - and when the crucial getting the sticky tabs on the right spot came, i would hit them..... and make them swing -and slap that diaper shut as fast as i could while she was distracted by the swinging. maybe something with noise, birds, sun etc and change it often. might work for a while, anyways. I have first-hand experience with this situation. For me and my family, the best solution was a cattle prod. If you cannot afford one, a stun gun works almost as effectively. How do you deal with an 11 month old crying and fussing during diaper changes, etc.?
It's very typical. Lots of kids make a fuss because they just don't want the interuption. I would try giving him a warning that in let's say 2 minutes you're going to change his diaper. When 2 minutes is up tell him it's time for a diaper change. Pick him up and do the diaper change. Try to make it so that he can go back to exactly what he was busy doing before the diaper change as soon as you're done changing him. Talk to him about how it will only take 2 minutes and then he can go right back to doing whatever it was he was doing. Reassure him that he needs to have a clean diaper because otherwise he will get a sore butt from having a rash and that would feel awful. Just do the diapering efficiently and let him get back to what he wants to be doing. He will eventually learn -- and as you explain it to him -- that diaper changes are just something he has to put up with and there's no choice about it. It is a drag to have to put up with him making a fuss over it several times a day but, this too shall pass.

You could also try having a special toy (doesn't matter at all what it is) that he gets to hold only during diaper changes. So you say let's go change your diaper and you can play with (or hold) whatever item it is. Make it the same item all the time and make it only available to him during diaper changes. When the diaper change is done, you say ok now let's put such and such away and you can have it again when we need to change your diaper again. It may sound silly but it's kind of like a transitional object and it might just do the trick. How do you deal with an 11 month old crying and fussing during diaper changes, etc.?
im going through that with my 10 month old right now lol he seems so strong always rolls over cries ect. what i find works sometimes i say look what mommies got then i give him something hes never seen or something he sees rarely, like the powder or something or diaper or i sing old mic donald to him or abc's and in each third letter i say it louder he seems to like that but when hes not into it i just put his diaper on while hes the wrong way lol sometime a bottle helps tooHow do you deal with an 11 month old crying and fussing during diaper changes, etc.?
My 11 year old was like this too... I had a silly hat with antennae and googly eyes that I wore and made faces at him during diaper changes. If we were out in public, I'd give him a special toy that was reserved for diaper changes only. Good luck! How do you deal with an 11 month old crying and fussing during diaper changes, etc.?
My daughter does the same thing. Its almost like a game as soon as the diaper comes off she runs. I just end up letting her go for a few minutes diaperless. Its cute (what baby booty isn't) and then I can usually convince her to lay down after a few minutes. Singing and letting her play with a clean diaper works. Perhaps if you buy a new toy that he can only have during diaper changes that may convince him to be still for a few. Just remember this will pass and you'll miss those naked booty chasing days...lolHow do you deal with an 11 month old crying and fussing during diaper changes, etc.?
My son is 1 yr 4months and STILL has this problem!! It's so frustrating sometimes. What you have to do is distract your baby. Find something for them to play with while you change the diaper real fast. I found that I have to tempt my sons with things besides his own toys. Like maybe my keys, something they dont see all the time. That way it keeps their attention for as long as you need. It also helps to have your wipes, diapers and powder right there and ready to use. Makes the process much faster and easier. How do you deal with an 11 month old crying and fussing during diaper changes, etc.?

I used a changing table MAYBE 4 times, and my son just turned 13 months. I use the bed or the floor.

My son is the EXACT same way. I have found that putting on his favorite show (thank god for DVR) and lay in the middle of the living room floor. Also give him a bottle, or sippy, a toy, or something he is normally not allowed to have (your cell phone, remote control, ect) to keep him occupied. I now only deal with him turning and having trouble changing his diaper maybe once a week. How do you deal with an 11 month old crying and fussing during diaper changes, etc.?
I've worked with children many years as a daycare provider and nanny and have seen this a number. Try changing his diaper on the bed or even the floor. He may be insecure with heights. Have every thing on hand so that the change goes as quickly as possible.

This might help. it is a guide to changing diapers, and I bet bathing is on there too.

Most people think this is common sense, but you would be surprised on how many people don't know how to do it. My husband just DON%26quot;T do it. he gets poo everywhere, it is nasty. Don't listen to people who give you crap about it. Honestly I bet they actually wouldn't be able to figure out how to put a diaper on. It is completely normal, you are not the only one. Good luck I will try to find a bathing guide. It is definitely scary when you have a fragile child and you know that and don't want to mess up and hurt the child. I give you props for asking. At least you are trying to learn.

I know they exist, but I don't know titles, or where you would purchase them. I watched a video and a demonstration with a doll during my childbirth classes. I know it sounds dumb, but the classes help with many of your fears, and also all those %26quot;dumb%26quot; question you are afraid or embarrassed to ask anyone else. I wouldn't have gotten through it without help from the class, my poor daughter would have frozen to death while I had to search the house for a towel, and clean diaper after I bathed her if I did it my way. they teach you about preplanning, and laying all the stuff out before you drag the munchkin over the sink and dunk it! Who knows what might have happened if i wasn't taught how first. I think it is important to realize that not every pregnant woman, or married man had a little brother/sister, or friends baby to babysit, and so this may all be new to them. You might look into the childbirth classes, they are usually pretty inexpensive at your local hospital, and they help more that you would think! Hope this helps. p.s. the grandparents are usually more than happy to give the classes as a gift, and they can all be done in one saturday if you don't have time for once a week classes.Does anyone know of any videos that teaches parents how to bathe their infant or change their diaper?
I teach childbirth education and baby care. You could try contacting Huggies. You may be able to view online the bathing and diapering dvd that they sent to me. The best and usually least expensive way to learn would be to take a class at a local hospital. I do have a copy of a video that I was using in my class and no longer need called %26quot;Baby's First Months%26quot;. It includes diapering and bathing (sponge %26amp; bathtub), as well as feeding, holding, immunizations, etc. If you're interested let me know, I'll only charge you $5 plus $2.50 to send it to you first class. Okay ladies I want to know what you think about the job your husband has done since you've had a baby.....Does he change diapers, get up in the middle of the night to let you sleep, does he do the disciplining(if you have older kids) does he play with the baby/kids...will he take them out of the house with out you? I am really curious to this.....My husband has been so amazing he does everything and all my friends always tell me how envious they are of me because of him....so I want to know what it's like for others! Is your husband a hands on dad...does he change diapers etc?
I guess I'm lucky too. My husband is such a great Dad. He changes our youngest sons diapers all the time. When our first son was born, he got up with me every 2 hours because I had to pump while he had to feed the baby a bottle (baby wouldn't latch on). Now that the boys are 4 %26amp; 2, he is their personal jungle gym. He takes them out to the store with him or will take them fishing and give me a chance to relax. He's a great father. I couldn't ask for anyone better!! Right now he's away (in the Air Force) and it's amazing how much he does around here that I have to do now that he's gone. :o(Is your husband a hands on dad...does he change diapers etc?
Yes, my husband changes diapers, bathes the kids, takes them to appointments (if he's home, he travels for business). The kids were his idea and I told him one reason I didn't want kids was that it was unfair that the woman had to carry the baby and give birth AND do all the legwork afterwards. Yes, he even gets up at night if they wake up. He can deal with sleep deprivation alot better than I can.Is your husband a hands on dad...does he change diapers etc?
My husband usually only does those things if I make him. Our daughter is 10 months and he loves playing with her, but as far as diaper changes go and helping me in the middle of the night-it only happens if I nag him enough. He works a full time job, so I'm happy to do most of the night time duties, but there are some nights I'm just too exhausted. It'd be nice if he would offer to help out on those nights instead of me basically forcing him to.Is your husband a hands on dad...does he change diapers etc?

I'm lucky like you. My husband is great! We have a 3 1/2 year old daughter and our son is now 3 months. He was off on paternity leave for 6 weeks and he really helped do everything. I haven't done any grocery shopping in 6 months (he does it all). He changes the diapers, bathes the kids, he stayed up all night (I pumped a bottle) so I could sleep 8 hours straight, he would take our daughter out to the park, store, etc., he also empties the dishwasher for me so I don't have to do it. Everyone also tells me they are envious and even my own mom has always been impressed with how great my husband is. I feel sorry for those women who don't have a great man like me because I don't think I could have done it all on my own. This is a nice question. Thank you!

Funny story: While my husband was off on paternity leave, he asked me what was for dinner. I told him whatever you're making. He made dinner. It was really good too.Is your husband a hands on dad...does he change diapers etc?

I am NOT married, I had my daughter 2yrs ago and my daughters father has been incarcerated since, my boyfriend has done and still does everything a father is supposed to do I am blessed to have him in our life. He wakes up in the middle of the night to tend to her watches her while i am at work etc.Is your husband a hands on dad...does he change diapers etc?
My husband is up pretty late at night, and when I first had my child he fed, changed and rocked her, since he was up. I usually had to get up for a quick 4:00 am feeding in those first few months and that was it.

He helped change diapers and feed her when he wasn't working and always help boil bottles and what not.

Now that our kids are older he still takes a pretty active role. He plays with them for hours in the evenings, occasionally takes them to play golf or go fishing for the day on weekends.

I get them ready, pick out clothes and all that stuff. I always have- but he's good about helping with everything else.

He helps with chores, too. I know I'm lucky! Is your husband a hands on dad...does he change diapers etc?
My husband has always done just as much as me with ours. If he didn't, we wouldn't be together. If he wasn't that kind of person when we got together, we'd have never gotten married and had kids. He is fully hands on, just like he should be.Is your husband a hands on dad...does he change diapers etc?
My husband is a hands on dad to his 2 children and the one we have together.

He works all day and has to drive to a different state an hour away to work and back, doesnt get home til around 7, so he doesnt see them much, when he gets home I let him relax until bedtime, then we both put our daughter to bed.

On weekends he does everything that needs to be done. And he makes them laugh like I never could.

Thank goodness we are among the lucky. :)
