Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?

My 17 month old son has had this rash for going on 3 weeks now! I've used Boudreaux's Butt Paste, which has been a God-send in the past, and I've also used hydrocortisone and Bactroban. I even give him a quick bath after each diaper change then pat him dry. It's hurting him so bad that he won't sit on his right butt cheek. Anyone have any home remedies that I may not know about?Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
Yes, %26quot;Triple Paste%26quot; is the best! All the pharmacies don't have it, but if you find it, be sure, that is the best thing out there!Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?

Desatin is supposed to be great. My aunt used it on my little cousin. No matter how often she changed him he still got diaper rash. This stuff healed it really fast.Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
I'm a grandma and I have noticed that the more products you use the more irritated the rash becomes. Try cleaning him with a soft towel do not use wipes with alcohol and let him exposed for short periods of time. I think that Jonson's baby cream is fabulous for curing and then preventing a rash. Also I would only use warm water because even mild soaps can irritate the rash. Good luck!!Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
Try putting him in a cloth diaper with out rubber pants for a while, or let him run free! If you live in a sunny area, let hime %26quot;streak%26quot;. The fresh air helps. (got 3 generations of experience here!)Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
hiya...1.the best treatment is leave ur sonny without a diaper for a 1-2 hrs, then wash him with water only, dun use any soap/lotion. Pat him dry n apply sudocreme and put the nappy on. Home remedy is u can mix purified butter+ a lil turmeric powder n apply it while he is exposed to air.It should work.Change his nappy just after 2-3 hrs, coz he might be on a lotta fluids, that is causing rashes, that doesn't mean u stop giving him fluids, just change his nappy often.

2.The other thing is your son might be having cold.

3.He might be teething

4.Try some other brand of nappy, i hope he is not getting any frictions/rubbing due to the nappies to get rashes

5.babies who r on antibiotics may get rashes

6.if ur son gets recurring rashes-This may be because they have an inborn susceptibility, allergic tendencies, high levels of ammonia in their urine, or a pH imbalance in their stool. It may also be the case that once the skin has become irritated, it becomes more susceptible to a second attack.

7.give spinach, strawberries, tomatoes, fluids in his diet

8.i read it somewhere so sharing with u---but i take no responsiblities for this, when changing a babys diaper put the unwrapped tea bags in his/hers diaper when they pee in there diaper the tea bags will realese a chemical that heals the rash with in 1 day you can reuse the tea bags just put them in a clean diaper but beware it WILL turn the babys bottem brown

9. Check with the doctor, is ur son's kidneys alrite?

10. mix corn starch %26amp; vaseline together to make a paste.put it on the rash and most of the time the rash is gone by the next diaper change unless it is really bad then it will take 2 or 3 changes

11.Limit the use of wet wipes

That shd be sufficient i guess....hapy baby caring :)Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
yeah try changing your child diaperAnyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
apply your regular diaper cream but let him sit on a bedpad that they use in the hospital to let his litle bottom air out. My 7 yrold had a terrible diaper rash when she was that age and that is what our doc told us to do. remember not to let them sit in the diaper taht is wet or feeced. you may need to cut down on a certtain food that could be causing an allergic reaction. or the type pf juice of drink you are giving you babe is highly acidic which will burn when they urinate. just watch out for new things.Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
Try Maalox. It is an antacid that will neutralize the affected area. You should see results within 24 hours.Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
I can tell you what worked when my son had a particularly vicious case of diaper rash (which occurred whenever he was teething):

1. Stop using wet wipes all together and instead, alternate washing his bottom with baby soap and water with washing it with plain water each diaper change

2. Let him run around without a nappy for an hour or so 2 or 3 times a day until the rash is healed. Yes, a pain in the rear if he wets himself but maybe you could put down cut up garbage bags or newspapers to protect the floors!

3. Change his diapers more frequently. Use good quality diapers and forgo the plastic pants

4. Use a good barrier cream. I used a cream called Kamillosan Ointment on my son's diaper rash. It heals it more or less overnight (honestly, it does) AND it can be used on cracked nipples too. The cream is non toxic so if it is used on nipples, it does not have to be wiped off in any way before breast feeding.

5. Once the rash has healed, use a good barrier cream such as Sudacrem.

6. In addition to caring for his bottom, when you bathe him, moisturise him all over with a good quality, unscented baby lotion. This will go a long way to improving the general condition of his skin and will prevent nappy rash from getting a grip in the areas that are usually unmoisturised.

7. Keep an eye on his diet and see if any particular food item sets him off, particularly if he is teething.

Do not use any talc or other powders as these will clump in his creases and will cause extra irritation. Continue to stick with washing your baby's bottom when you change him rather than using wipes (unless you are out). Use soap sparingly every other change (lightly soap your hand then wash his genitals and bottom quickly and rinse immediately) otherwise the ammonia will continue to build up. Also continue to change his diapers frequently (every hour - hour and a half or so). Finally, continue to let him run around without a diaper at least once a day (more if you can manage it) to stop the rash returning.

Poor little mite! I hope it works out.Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
i've tried this suessful combo many times

vaseline

over the counter anti fungal cream like for athletes foot

hydrocortizone

and destin

Its a messy mixture but very effective against those rashes that won't go away and even start to bleed from being open. And as soon as they poo clean it off with a clean wet wash rag..not wipes ...until the rash is goneAnyone have ideas on how to get rid of diaper rash?
Try Tea Tree oil diluted with a carrier oil (I have used it full strength when son was a baby, just keep an eye so it doesn't dry the skin out).

It's said to be the end all be all %26quot;medicine in a bottle%26quot; as it's an anti-fungal oil.

I always keep a couple of bottles on hand.

Just make sure it says %26quot;made in Australia%26quot;.
